They probably have all foam objects. They double wrap them like "Your Name" said and then cut the wrapped foam into sections until they can take out all of the foam. Then they just retap all the sections together. At least that is what I think...

I've done this as an art project before. You first layer whatever you're wrapping with the sticky side facing outwards, and wrap in layers. Then you wrap with the sticky side inwards until it's solid enough to stand alone. :]

Yeah because they are hollow, I wonder if there is a thin plastic insert they use, or possibly they do it one section at a time layered on top of one another so it is firm, then they tape them altogether.
