Since America has the highest overall consumption/waste per capita it can expect to be the major target for such comment & reaction. This does not excuse other nations, but leading by example would help assuage the developing world mantra of "You do it, so don't tell us not to..." or “We want what you’ve got, you’re just trying to hold us back…”
