Lighting is one of the worst forms of pollution in itself, and of course the production of it pollutes too. The sad thing about light pollution is most could and should be avoidable :-(

If you would like to become educated about light "pollution" a good place to start would be to read the Wikipedia entry on this topic. The so called pollution that occurs has nothing to do with heat produced from inefficient bulbs because the heat is dissipated rapidly within a few feet from each source.
